This policy covers how Lewisville Playhouse, abbreviated “LP,” treats the personal information that it collects through our website or offline via phone, by mail, or at the LP Box Office. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, information related to your current and past usage of LP’s products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, or other information that is not otherwise publicly available.
Use and Collection of Information
Personal information does not have to be collected by LP in order to purchase LP products and services. You may purchase tickets or donate and remain anonymous if you choose to pay by cash in person at our Box Office at performances or during business hours.
General Information Collection
You may visit and browse our website as often as you like without logging in and no personal information about your visit will be collected. LP does collect general information about the way in which you use our website. LP uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer its website, track user movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. LP aggregates usage information and uses it only to improve and refine LP website and its services. We may perform (or have third parties perform) analyses of visitors’ behavior, and may share aggregated, anonymous data with sponsors and advertisers.
Use of Donor Information
Donor information is used to complete the transaction, record the donation, generate the appropriate tax receipt, and to appropriately acknowledge each gift donation. Donor records are also used for general record keeping and internal analysis. Credit card information is used to process the gift, but is not retained. LP does not sell, rent, market or otherwise disclose donor personal information to any outside party unless required under law nor will it send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. Within LP, access to donor information is limited to staff members with a need to know. Staff members are bound by policy to keep such information confidential.
LP enjoys providing donors with recognition for their gifts through print, spoken, and/or web-based media. However, you may choose to waive this recognition and make a gift anonymously. Please contact the Box Office if you would like your gift to be anonymous. We will always respect your decision to keep a gift confidential.
LP communicates with donors on a regular basis via email and provides a method to opt out of receiving email, at the bottom of every email sent via our Donor email system.
Personal Information Collection
LP collects personal information when you make a purchase or a contribution, join our mailing list (email or other), request information, participate in a promotion or an online survey, apply for employment with GLP and when you attend certain special events.
Depending on the nature of your interaction with LP, we may ask you for information such as your name, phone number, physical address, social security number, birth date, company related information, email address, credit card information including expiration date and billing address, and product preferences. Once you register with LP and sign or opt in to any services, you are no longer anonymous to LP.
Financial information is collected on a transaction-by-transaction basis.
Personal Information Use
Your personal information may be used by LP (or third parties engaged by us) to: 1) fulfill your requests for products and services, 2) contact you, 3) customize the advertising and web content and experience, 4) conduct research, (5) respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, and (6) establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
Financial information is used to execute purchase and donation transactions (on a transaction-by transaction basis). We share this information with credit card and check processing organizations as necessary only to complete the transaction. This information may be encrypted and stored for logging purposes and portions of this information will be used to confirm patrons’ purchases.
LP may provide your name, address, and email address to other non-profit organizations for mutually beneficial programs (although we do not share any other information about you, the selection criteria may result in the third party being able to identify your relationship with LP in a broad manner, i.e., that you are a subscriber or donor). LP does not rent, sell or exchange our mailing list with any for-profit entities. You can request at anytime that we do not share your name, address, and email address with such third parties. LP does not monitor or control the privacy policies of third parties.
All email sent by LP offers the option for you to be removed from the opt-in list. You may request to be removed from our mailing or phone list at anytime. In addition, you can edit personal information in your account with us, specifically your name, address, phone number, interest preferences and contact preferences by contacting us at the phone number or mailing address listed at the end of this document.
LP may use “cookie” technology. A cookie is a small amount of data sent by our websites and stored on your computer so that our site can read it, which helps us keep track of how you use our websites. Many web browsers automatically accept cookies by default, but contain an option for you to turn off the cookie acceptance if you prefer. If you turn off acceptance, there may be some features of our websites that will not be available to you and some pages may not display properly. We do not allow unrelated third parties to set cookies via the LP website.
Security and Disclaimer
Although LP uses security that we believe to be appropriate to protect your personal information, we do not guarantee that our security precautions will protect against, and we expressly disclaim any liability for, any loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal information.
LP may update this policy at any time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way LP treats personal information by sending a notice to the email address that you have provided us or by placing a prominent notice on our websites.
