- One song cut from the show. Select a cut for the role in which you feel most interested. An accompanist will be provided at the audition and will have all of the song cuts prepared. Cuts will be made available in the link below.
- A recent 8x10 color headshot and copy of your resume.
- A list of any/all conflicts that you may have from April 30-June 5, 2026.

Actor Stipend: $150 / Actors will also receive 2 complimentary tickets to the show. Seeking Non-Union actors.

PRINCIPAL ROLES:
Roger Davis - A struggling musician and former drug addict. He is reminiscent of Kurt Cobain. Roommates with Mark in the loft and battles living with AIDS. He has just begun taking AZT and suffers from depression. Despite himself, he falls in love with Mimi. Character engages in on stage intimacy.
*Experience with electric guitar is a plus.

Mark Cohen - Jewish aspiring filmmaker. He is Roger's best friend and caregiver. He is Maureen’s ex-boyfriend, she left him for Joanne. Mark is a noisy introvert who believes in community and loves his friends fiercely. They are his chosen family.

Age: Early - Late 20s
Vocal range: A2-G4
Tom Collins - A professor of computer age philosophy who was recently expelled as an adjunct professor at MIT. Former roommate in the loft and has been living with AIDS since 1987. He falls in love with Angel. Character engages in on stage intimacy.

Age: Mid/Late 20s - Early 30s
Vocal range: F#2-A4
Angel Dumott Schunard - Angel is a drag queen and hustler. He does whatever it takes to make money and survive on the streets of NYC, from street drumming to dog walking. He falls in love with Collins. He has recently developed AIDS and has less than a year to live, so he embraces life with every fiber of his being. Character engages in on stage intimacy. *Strong movement skills. Experience with percussion is a plus.

Benjamin Coffin III - Benny used to be Mark and Roger’s roommate. He is the new landlord of the building he once lived in, forcing them to pay the rent or be evicted. Benny used to date Mimi before breaking things off with her to get married to the very wealthy, Allison Grey, whose father owns everything.

Mimi Marquez - A 19 year old exotic dancer with a heroin addiction and is living with AIDS. She lives in the same building as Mark and Roger. She falls in love with Roger. Character engages in on stage intimacy. *Strong movement skills.

Joanne Jefferson - Joanne is an out and proud lesbian, who is an Ivy League educated pro-bono lawyer and activist. Always willing to help those in need. She struggles to not be jealous of Maureen’s flirtatious nature. Joanne is loyal, has strong self discipline, morals, loves community, and her new friends. Character engages in on stage intimacy.

Maureen Johnson - Maureen is a bisexual performing artist, and Mark's ex girlfriend. She left Mark to be with Joanne. Character engages in on stage intimacy, which may include a brief moment of mooning. *Strong movement skills. Must be proficient with a cappella singing.

ENSEMBLE / UNDERSTUDIES:
Seeking actors to fill 7 Ensemble roles, all of which will portray various roles, as cast, and act as a type of Greek chorus. The ensemble is made up of strong singing actors, of all types that aren't middle-upper class suburbia. They will also serve as understudies to principal roles.
SWINGS:
Seeking actors to fill 2 Swing/Ensemble roles, both of which will portray various roles as part of the ensemble and will also serve as covers to ensemble featured roles should an understudy have to go on for a principal role.
